Agreements

We hold ourselves to these items:

  1. We agree to respect (and cultivate openness to) one another's ideas and experiences.

  2. We lead with curiosity rather than judgment in the face of people expressing experiences or insights that feel unfamiliar or hard to understand.

  3. We aim to support one another according to our levels of capacity as peers (i.e., not as surrogate helping professionals available 24/7).

  4. We understand that OWM Community represents one node in an individual's (ideally larger) support system and strive to weave additional supports (incl. therapists, coaches, and healers) into our individual systems as our unique situations demand.

  5. We commit to actively interrogating and unlearning harmful dimensions of our behavior shaped by systems of social oppression / domination / privilege so we can work toward being in community in ways that better support the flourishing of all.

  6. When conflict arises, we strive to engage in courageous self-advocacy, own the impact of our actions alongside our original intent, and explore the potential role of neurodivergence.

  7. We respect confidentiality by ensuring that what is shared in the OWM Community stays here.

  8. We have zero tolerance for bullying and harassment.

  9. When we witness a significant departure from our shared values and agreements, we will elevate this concern to the facilitators.

  10. When we witness a departure from our shared values that may harm one or more particular members, we strive to engage in proactive allyship by touching base with affected individuals to offer an outlet or second voice to amplify their concerns.
