  • Though founder and lead facilitator Kaitlin Smith does draw upon training in psychotherapy to create and facilitate programming, neither Our Wild Minds nor Kaitlin offer psychotherapy at this time.

Feel free to be in touch to request help in locating a psychotherapist who specializes in work with gifted clients in your part of the world. Please note, however, that in the United States (and some other locations), therapist licensing occurs at the state level which limits the clients therapists can legally serve to individuals who live in those locations (usually the places where the therapist currently lives and has lived previously while in practice). These laws severely limit access to appropriate psychotherapeutic services for members of minority populations of all kinds, particularly when neurodivergence is a factor as it is in giftedness.

This is one of the reasons why Our Wild Minds offers a space for community support, connection, and resource sharing that Black gifted adults can engage with every day of the week wherever they may live in the world.

  • Founder Kaitlin Smith welcomes inquiries and proposals related to potential engagements with organizations and individual helping professionals such as psychotherapists and coaches.

  • If you're a gifted person who is enthusiastic about what we're up to at Our Wild Minds but don't identify as Black, please let us know that you're out there as we consider new offerings and ways to engage additional populations using this form.

Please also get in touch if you (or someone in your network) might be a good partner to us as we strive to build our capacity to engage additional populations.

  • This is an important, nuanced matter and you're not alone in asking this question! Some places to start are taking our "Wait, Could I Be Gifted?" Quiz and exploring our free, 40-page guide, Tasting the Gifted Rainbow.

  • This matter is much more complex than it may appear on the surface, particularly to individuals who do not have the lived experience of being Black or a person of color. Learn more about this by checking our our blog post (Young) Gifted and Black Revisited: Why Black Giftedness Matters Despite its Complex History and, for a deeper dive, check out our free 40-page guide, Tasting the Gifted Rainbow.
